This Privacy Policy describes how Desk Stretch ("we", "our", or "us"), developed and operated by ZHICHAO SUN, processes information in connection with the Desk Stretch application ("App") and this website ("Site"). By using the App or Site, you agree to the practices described herein.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

Desk Stretch is designed with a privacy-first approach. We do not collect, store, or transmit:

  • Your name, email address, or any account information
  • Device identifiers, IP addresses, or location data
  • Usage analytics, crash reports sent to our servers, or behavioral data
  • Health or fitness data beyond what is stored locally on your device
  • Advertising identifiers or tracking data

We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or data-sharing services.

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

All data generated by your use of the App — including your stretch activity, reminders, and preferences — is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's standard on-device storage mechanisms. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable iCloud synchronization (see Section 4).

Legal basis (GDPR): Processing is based on your consent and our legitimate interest in providing core App functionality (Article 6(1)(a) and (f) GDPR).

4. iCloud Synchronization

If you choose to enable iCloud synchronization, your App data is synced through Apple's iCloud service. This sync is governed by Apple's privacy policy and terms of service. Apple applies end-to-end encryption to iCloud data where supported. We have no access to your iCloud data at any time.

iCloud data may be stored on Apple's servers located outside your country of residence, including servers in the United States and other jurisdictions. Apple's Standard Contractual Clauses and other safeguards apply to such transfers. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details.

Legal basis (GDPR): Processing is based on your explicit consent, which you may withdraw at any time by disabling iCloud sync in your device settings (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).

5. App Store & In-App Purchases

When you download the App or make in-app purchases, Apple collects and processes your payment information and purchase history. This data is governed entirely by Apple's privacy policy. We receive only aggregate, anonymized transaction records from Apple sufficient to validate your subscription or purchase status; we do not receive your payment card details or personal information from Apple.

6. This Website

This website (deskstretch.app) does not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics. Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, referring URL, and timestamp) may be retained by our hosting provider for security and operational purposes. These logs are not used to identify individuals and are deleted within 30 days.

7. Data Retention

Because we do not collect personal data on our servers, we have no personal data to retain or delete. Data stored locally on your device is retained until you delete the App or clear its data. iCloud data is retained according to Apple's iCloud retention policies and your own iCloud account settings.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us at support@deskstretch.app and we will promptly address the matter.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of Access: Request confirmation of whether we process your personal data and obtain a copy of it.
  • Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): Request deletion of your personal data where we have no legitimate grounds to retain it.
  • Right to Data Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Right to Restriction of Processing: Request that we restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances.
  • Right to Object: Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting lawfulness of prior processing.

10. California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

We do not sell, share, or disclose personal information to third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration. We do not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. California residents have the right to know, delete, and opt-out of the sale of personal information. Because we do not collect or sell personal information, these rights are inherently satisfied. 11. Right to Lodge a Complaint (EEA/UK)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom and believe your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where required by law, notify you via the App or email. Your continued use of the App or Site after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
